[So poor Rei here is not where he had been as of an hour ago. Training with his pokemon, working on their techniques--and now he's...

[He's got a very shaky grip on his Gear, which has been showing the ground slowly distancing itself from him, and soon turns it to face him, where no less than seven Drifloons have decided to take him hostage.]

I'm not sure where they're taking me but I can't free myself from this height without risking severe bodily injury and I'd rather not break my neck! I-if someone could please-- I'm not sure what to do here!!

[And he almost drops his gear--there's a moment of panic, and he lets out a choked scream, but manages to catch it in his hands. Before he turns it off, he just has this look of utmost pity; he's going to cry.]

Ah -- Hey! Calm down you balloons! Or give the guy a break!

[Calling out when the Pokemon all take off, Rin slaps his goggles on again and leans down, where the Latios easily zips forward to catch up again. Sitting up and raising his arms, trying to gesture with the air whipping by taking his words, he's trying to tell the captive to struggle and get free.

Be free, Rei.]

[No, this is definitely Rin. Part of Rei really wants to figure this out, but it'd be easier to solve that mystery once he's no longer being dragged from the skies. He tries to stretch an arm forward, in the hopes of grabbing on to one of those arms (but is that pokemon really going to keep hold of the kid?) but the balloons tug him back--well, most of them do.

One holding his arms lets go and he drops forward.]

Ohhh no no no this isn't going to work!! T-they're too erratic! [He's going to panic, and be eaten by balloons. Or have a heart attack. Maybe both simultaneously.]

[Lurching forward to try to catch Rei's arms, Rin has to shift and stand on his knees to reach him finally. Keeping one hand on Rei and one reaching for another pokeball on his belt, he throws it ahead and above them.. yeah. That's a Wailmer suddenly blocking out the sun above the Drifloons.

Look, it's a bid to scare them, but this might have been a huge mistake. who says wacky schemes dont work]

[Rei grabs onto that tiny hand like a lifeline. He decides not to focus on the confusion of the situation for now, and just hopes that Rin's little grip and the cooperation from his pokemon is enough to free him.

The moment that Wailmer appears, Rei just lets out the most undignified scream because what the flying fuck--and the Drifloon waste no time in letting go. They scatter like dandelion petals in the wind.]

[Goodbye Drifloons and hello surprise Rei crashing into him. At least Rin hangs on even as the Latios nosedives in time to avoid the Wailmer crashing down on top of them. Throwing his hand with the pokeball in it back up to return the whale before it can crush them, Rin ends up starting to laugh. How that worked, he's not really sure, but with Latios coasting them the rest of the way down, he just gives Rei a wide smile.]

[Well, Rei can't complain there. He doesn't mean to latch onto the smaller boy, but the kid's strong and has a fairly decent grip on him; and they make it safely apart. With a sigh, Rei looks down and just gives a small smile.]

[Puffing up with pride and grinning just a bit more, Rin let go once Latios settled on the ground and pushed his flight goggles up.]
